What instruments do you play and how long have you been playing?
I play bass and guitar. I started off playing guitar about 9 years ago but every now and then, I’d also pick up the bass. Now, I mostly dedicate myself to being a bassist. I love playing guitar but there are many advantages that come with being a bass player. For one thing, there are way too many guitar players out there. Who even needs one these days? Bass players, on the other hand, are in high demand. Plus, if you’re lazy like me, you’ve got two less strings to change.

Who are your greatest influences as a bassist?
Growing up, I was a huge Ozzy fan and loved listening to Ozzy’s live Tribute record with Randy Rhoads. Not only was I mesmerized by Randy’s playing, I really got a kick out of Rudy Sarzo’s playing on the album as well. Rudy will always be one of my biggest influences as a bassist. As much as I admire people who can play the hell out of their instruments, its not always about having the most technical ability. Having the creativity to write music is just as important. That’s where bassists such as Nikki Sixx, Rachel Bolan, and Leif Edling come into the picture. These guys did a lot of songwriting and had a huge impact on the success of their bands. They really disprove those theories about bass players being the least important members of the band. Of course, my band may not recognize it yet but someday they will…

What do you want to be when you grow up?
I want to play in a Rock n Roll band and actually earn a living off of it. Let's see if that’ll ever happen.

Which is the superior material: denim or leather?
Leather, all the way. Too bad it’s so expensive.
